The hospital was dominated by massive surface parking lots sprawling over much of the site. One of the initial design concerns was to reduce surfacing parking and other non permeable surfaces while increasing parking to accommodate for intended growth. The upper diagram depicts existing hardscape while the lower diagram shows the hardscape for the design proposal.
